The VR Bank Run has been taking place since 1981 and attracts numerous runners from people's and performance sports every year. The run starts in front of the Dr. Stocke Stadium and leads past the Rittersteich through the Hofgarten to the Veste Coburg. There is a refreshment station and a great panoramic view of the Main valley. The last part is through the Coburg Forest back to the starting point. Accessible by bus and train (access from Coburg train station)
