This beautiful loop starts at the Lindenhof and leads through hilly countryside to the ruins of Lichtenstein Castle and back.
The ruins of Lichtenegg Castle are an aristocratic castle, presumably from the High Middle Ages, above the village of Lichtenegg in the municipality of Birgland in the Upper Palatinate district of Amberg-Sulzbach in Bavaria. It was first mentioned more than 700 years ago in the Nuremberg Reichssalbüchlein, but is probably much older. The castle ruins are freely accessible at all times and offer a fantastic view from the Upper Palatinate Jura, part of the Franconian Alb, to the Fichtelgebirge.
