The striking Schellenberg ruins are reached right at the start of the hike. The route then crosses the German-Czech border and climbs the Havran. Back on the German side, the Hubertus Chapel at Entenbühl is passed and the route then returns through the forest towards Waldkirch.
The start is at the Planer Höhe car park. There are no refreshment stops along the way, so some provisions should be taken with you.
