Stage 2 of the “Salinen-Radweg” long-distance cycle path, Bavaria / Salzburg (Austria).
This is the second and last stage of the historic saltworks cycle path, which runs for around 130 km through the Chiemgau Alps and the Salzburger Land and connects the salt and saltworks cities of Rosenheim, Traunstein and Berchtesgaden as well as Hallein in Austria.
The second stage begins in Traunstein (Bavaria) and ends in Hallein (Salzburg). Always cycling in the footsteps of salt, you pass the picturesque foothills of the Alps and historically significant places such as Bad Reichenhall, Berchtesgaden and Bischofswiesen.
The start and finish point of this route can be reached by bus and train, and there are places to stay overnight as well as restaurants.
