Challenging tour from Leuchtenberg.
This Leuchtenberg tour is an epic, multi-day cycle tour and one of the greatest challenges in the Upper Palatinate Forest. The 361-kilometre circular tour follows in the footsteps of the most important dynasty of landgraves in the Upper Palatinate, the Leuchtenbergs, and leads through varied landscapes. The route requires an excellent level of fitness. The route consists of a mixture of asphalted cycle paths, little-used side roads and unpaved field and forest paths. Along the way, the route rewards you with the imposing Leuchtenberg castle ruins and leads through the volcanic landscape of the Parkstein and the magical Waldnaab valley.
