Rad-Rundtour: „Hofheimerle“- Hofheim-Rennsteig (Haßberge)

Haßfurt to Hofheim (18 km) on the former “Hofheimerle” railway line. From Goßmannsdorf there is an energetic ascent for approx. 4 km, also on the Rennsteig. The Rennsteig cycle path follows the ridge until it only goes downhill via Köslau to Ebelsbach. From there flat in the Main Valley via Zeil back to Haßfurt. Start, destination and direction can be selected as required. However, the direction shown here is recommended because the ascent (near Goßmannsdorf) is steeper, but shorter than in the opposite variant. Road conditions: asphalt bike path between Haßfurt and Hofheim and between Ebelsbach and Haßfurt; Otherwise little-traveled road between Goßmannsdorf and Rennweg as well as in Ebelsbachtal (there partly also cycle path along the road; Rennweg graveled). Refreshments: Haßfurt, Königsberg, Hofheim, Goßmannsdorf, Köslau, Ebelsbach, Zeil am Main. Highlights / Sights: Knights Chapel Haßfurt, old town and castle in Königsberg, old town Hofheim with railway museum, Gleisenau Castle near Ebelsbach (only to be visited from the outside, castle park freely accessible), old town Zeil; again and again beautiful views of the landscape around the Haßberge; beautiful valley of the Ebelsbach.
