Idyllic loop in the Tiefgraben-Kohlbruck nature reserve near Nuremberg.
The loop starts at Nuremberg-Erlenstegen railway station and leads mostly through the nature reserve and the Sebalder Reichswald forest. The hike is very varied and characterised by wet alluvial forest, dry drifting sands, sparse pine forest and a small lake. With a bit of luck, rare bird species such as the middle spotted woodpecker can be spotted. A perfect route to take a deep breath and forget the hustle and bustle of the city!
There are refreshment stops at the Schießhaus and the forest sports ground.
