The Middle Franconian Way of St James, also known as the "Franconian Camino," leads from Nuremberg to Rothenburgabronn, ob der Tauber. The route passes through the towns of Oberweihersbuch, Heilsbronn, Weihenzell, Häsl and Binzwangen.
This is the oldest signposted route in Germany, following in the footsteps of St James, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. The network of the Way of St James goes back half a millennium and stretches across the whole of Europe. There are many Protestant churches of St James along this route. The route is varied and leads through meadows, fields and wooded areas.
