Beautiful long-distance hiking trail in the Bavarian Forest.
A wonderful hike in one of the last wild river landscapes in Bavaria, starting at the Gfäll car park. There is a public bathroom at the car park. There is also the "Gfäll" bus stop, so traveling here by public transport is possible.
The hike follows the Ilz, a tributary of the Danube. Because of its partly dark-coloured appearance, it is also known as "The Black Pearl". It can be divided into six stages, but there is always the option of planning the sections individually. There are places to stop for refreshments and overnight accommodation in the villages.
