Impressive scenic hiking trail through the Bavarian foothills of the Alps near Holzkirchen, Bavaria.
The hike can be reached by bus (bus stop Kleinhartpenning) and is ideal for a relaxing day trip from Munich. For those arriving by car there are parking facilities in the town centre.
The hiking trail starts in the center of Kleinhartpenning. It then leads west over atmospheric forest paths to Dietramszell and then to the nature reserve Ellbach and Kirchseemoor in the south. From there follows a section to the municipality of Babenberg and back to Kleinhartpenning. Special jewels of the hike are the Hackensee and Kirchsee, which are very good for fishing. The Falkenau forester's lodge in the western section of the hike is the location of the TV series of the same name on ZDF.
