Popular Goldsteig connection in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria.
Since the summer of 2012, a new connecting route has enabled Goldsteig hikers to hike from the Proeller summit (south route) to the Arber summit (Goldsteig north route). From the Proeller it goes down via Kollnburg to Viechtach. The path continues via Neunussberg to Ries, Thalersdorf, Arnbruck / Hoebing and then up to the Ecker saddle. You now have the option of either hiking to the Grosser Arber or north-west over the Kaitersberg in the direction of Furth im Wald.
