Franconian Mountain Trail Stage 7: Arzberg - Waldsassen

This route is stage 7 of the Fränkischer Gebirgsweg, a long-distance trail in Bavaria; this specific segment starts in Arzberg and ends in Waldsassen. The path leads from the town of Arzberg through the expansive forests of the Kohlwald toward the border of the Upper Palatinate, passing the historic "Dreifaltigkeitskirche Kappl," a unique baroque pilgrimage church with a symbolic cloverleaf floor plan. The itinerary crosses the scenic meadow landscapes of the Stiftland and offers views of the monastery town before reaching the final destination of Waldsassen, famous for its magnificent Cistercian Abbey and its world-renowned library.
