The route profile of the Franconian Switzerland Marathon is relatively flat and runs entirely on the car-free B 470 through the heart of wild and romantic Franconian Switzerland - from Walberla to Neideck: First, the route heads from Ebermannstadt towards Forchheim to the first junction to Weilersbach. There you make the first turn and return to Ebermannstadt. After passing the 10km mats in Ebermannstadt, the runners follow the B 470 to the next turning point between Muggendorf and Sachsenmühle back to Ebermannstadt and again on the 10km loop to Weilersbach and back.
