Charming Loop in the Steinwald Nature Park, Bavaria.
This route leads through the Steinwald Nature Park to the Weißenstein castle ruins. The castle was built in the 11th century and was a fortified position as early as the 13th century. In the 14th century, the castle passed to the Nothafft nobility, who continued to expand it. Destroyed and rebuilt several times during the various battles for the Bavarian throne, it was completely abandoned in 1550.
It starts at the Marktredwitzerhaus hiking car park, from where the route leads the entire way through the forest. Except for the exit to the ruins, the route is easy to hike.
