Panoramic hike in the Karwendel nature reserve and Karwendel foothills, Bavaria. This hike starts at a parking lot in the Isar valley south of Mittenwald. The Brunnsteinsteig trail leads steadily uphill for three and a half kilometers. During the summer months, you can stop off at the Brunnsteinhütte before making the leisurely descent back into the Isar valley. Optionally, the route can be extended with an ascent to the Brunnsteinspitze (2180 m above sea level). You then return via the same route.
