The second stage leads with many ups and downs through the beautiful Spessart from Geiselbach to Flörsbach. Right at the start, the route climbs mostly through forest to Franzosenkopf and finally through forest almost to the stage finish. After Geiselbach, a wonderful view of the Hessian Spessart opens up.
This stage runs exactly along the former state border between the former Kingdom of Bavaria and the Kingdom of Prussia. Historical stone border markings make this clearly visible.
