Mountain Hike Falkenhütte - Falken - Hochhädrich

This scenic and alpine ridge hike leads across the Nagelfluh chain in the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park on the border between the Bavarian Allgäu and Vorarlberg. The trail explores the prominent summits of the Falken (1,564 m) and the Hochhädrich (1,565 m), following a challenging mixture of narrow ridge paths, root-covered mountain trails, and partially cable-secured rock passages. A central highlight is the panoramic view from the ridge, which on clear days extends from Lake Constance to the high peaks of the Central Alps, as well as a cozy stop at the Falkenhütte mountain inn. In the steep grassy slopes and rocky drops, chamois, alpine choughs, and rare alpine flowers like gentians can be brilliantly observed. Due to the exposed ridge sections, the route absolutely requires surefootedness, a head for heights, and solid alpine fitness.
