Untertürkheim Wine Trail

This enjoyable route leads through the tradition-steeped vineyards above the Stuttgart district of Untertürkheim. The path explores the terraced slopes at the edge of the Neckar Valley, running almost exclusively on paved vineyard paths and asphalted service tracks. A central highlight is the spectacular view over the Stuttgart basin, the Neckar river, and the prominent Sepulchral Chapel on Württemberg hill opposite. Along the route, information boards provide details about the various grape varieties and the work of the winemakers. In the sun-exposed dry stone walls of the vineyards, wall lizards can be brilliantly observed, while kestrels often soar above the slopes hunting for field mice. Due to the excellent path conditions, this loop is an ideal location for a relaxed hike that combines nature with Swabian wine culture.
