From Meersburg, it is better to take the steep descent through the town, as there is no cycle path on the way to the ferry harbour. From the ferry harbour, the route continues quickly to Uhldingen. Here the route leads along the pile dwellings before entering the forest towards Birnau. Before reaching Birnau church, the first steep climb is rewarded with a marvellous view over Lake Constance. The church is well worth a visit, especially if you can listen to the organ playing during a service. The hilly route continues to Affenberg Salem and towards Killesweiher, Hallendorf, Schiggendorf and Baitenhausen. The picturesque ride leads through the forest, across fields and through small lanes. Shortly before Baitenhausen, however, the steep ascent to Dittenhausen begins before a rapid descent to Meersburg.
