Beautiful hike in the Black Forest National Park, Baden-Württemberg.
A relaxing hike through the woods between Simmersfeld and Beuren. The path leads along the Schneitbach and also to the remains of a medieval castle. The Schildeck Castle is a so-called "departed" hilltop castle. So most of it has fallen into disrepair and there are only isolated remains of the castle, such as rows of stones and a ditch. At the starting point there are places to stop near the church. There are also parking spaces for cars and bus stops for those arriving by public transport.
