Maulbronn Legend Trail

Exciting hiking excursion in the Stromberg-Heuchelberg nature park. The idyllic wine-growing town of Maulbronn is located on the Württemberg Wine Route. On this circular route you can explore the region of the northern Black Forest. The start is near the Maulbronn monastery. You pass the mill tower and get to the culture and wine trail on the Klosterberg. Passing the beer garden on the left, the path leads almost to the Tiefer See bathing lake. At the level of the Gruhe memorial, turn left. Then it goes through the magnificent forest and along its edge to the Reutsee. This exudes a wonderful calm. The hiking trail later leads in an arc past the beautiful Roßweiher to the Wilhelmshöhe. Shortly afterwards you reach the legendary Faustturm. The alchemist dr. Faustus is said to have lived here earlier and made gold for the abbot. To the left of the tower is a goldsmith supporting this legend. Almost at the end of the path, you should pay a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Maulbrunn Monastery. The many small shops around the Maulbronn town hall are also worth seeing: wheelwrights, bookstores, herb witches and monastery cafés.
