Of the five wonderful, official bike tours around Philippsburg, Route 1 suggested here is the longest. More scenic variety than on this cycle path is hardly possible: From Huttenheim you cycle through the Lußhardtwald, to the Freyersee and over the picturesque Rheinschanzinsel. Following the course of the Rhine one arrives at the nature reserve Altrhein-Elisabethenwört and then to Rußheim, from where it goes back to the starting point.
Although this beautiful loop is not that short (ca. 34 km), it is considered family-friendly. The route can be reached by bus and train. There are restaurants.
