This hike leads to the panoramic heights of the central Black Forest near Offenburg. The tour starts at the parking lot in Reichenbach. The trail first leads through the vineyards of the front Kinzig valley and then climbs steadily through dense coniferous and mixed forest. A particular highlight is the Brandeck Tower on the summit of the Brandeckkopf (691 m). From the platform of the historic viewing tower, you can enjoy a panoramic view across the Rhine Valley to the Vosges mountains and deep into the valleys of the Black Forest. In summer, lizards and various butterfly species can be observed on the sunny slopes, while the woodland areas are home to the black woodpecker.
