This beautiful and varied hike leads through idyllic orchards and woodruff/beech forests in the Swabian Alb biosphere reserve before heading to the ruins of Hohenneuffen Castle. This is the largest fortress in southern Germany that offers outstanding views of Beuron, the Beurener Felsen and the rest of the surrounding area. The surrounding vineyards and the picturesque Tobelweiher pond make this route something very special. The benches and loungers along the circular route invite you to take a break in the charming landscape.
The loop can also be walked in the opposite direction, in which case the ascents are somewhat flatter and the castle is reached as a reward towards the end of the hike.
