Critical Mass Stuttgart April 2022

This urban route documents the course of the Critical Mass bicycle demonstration in April 2022 through the streets of Stuttgart. The route covers central traffic axes of the state capital and runs almost exclusively on asphalted main roads, wide boulevards and inner-city squares. A central highlight is the ride along sections that are normally dominated by traffic jams - such as the B14 or Theodor-Heuss-Straße - which are transformed into a protected space for hundreds of cyclists during this event. Along the route, especially in the green areas of the Schlossgarten and the Feuersee, you can observe Nile geese, city pigeons and squirrels in the urban space. The route is largely flat (in keeping with the valley location), but includes the typical gentle inclines of Stuttgart's basin topography and is ideal for exploring the dimensions of the city by bike.
