Albsteig (HW1) Stage 8: Boßler - Burg Teck

This route is stage 8 of the Albsteig (HW1), a long-distance trail along the northern edge of the Swabian Jura. This specific segment starts at the Boßler and ends at Teck Castle. The diverse hike follows the Albtrauf escarpment, offering fascinating panoramic views. Highlights include the Reußenstein castle ruins, perched spectacularly on the cliff edge, and the volcanic Randecker Maar. The Breitenstein serves as an ideal rest area with views of the Three Emperor Mountains, before the path continues via the Gelber Fels to the imposing Teck Castle. Overnight stays are available directly at the Teck Castle hikers' hostel; wild camping is prohibited in the nature park. Potable water is accessible at managed spots like Reußenstein or Teck Castle, but a supply should be carried for the steep trails, which require surefootedness in wet conditions.
