Albsteig (HW1) Stage 7: Kuchalb (Donzdorf) - Boßler

This route is stage 7 of the Albsteig (HW1), a long-distance trail along the northern edge of the Swabian Jura. This specific segment starts in Kuchalb (Donzdorf) and ends at the Boßler. The hike is characterized by numerous spectacular viewpoints such as the Wasserberg, Fuchseck, and Rötelstein. The path first leads downhill to Gingen an der Fils, followed by an ascent through picturesque orchards offering views of the Three Emperor Mountains. After crossing the Haarberg-Wasserberg nature reserve, the demanding route continues with several steep climbs and descents along the ridge to the Boßlerhaus. Overnight stays are available directly at the Boßlerhaus (Naturfreundehaus); wild camping is prohibited in the nature park. Potable water is accessible in the towns and at managed huts like the Wasserberghaus, but a supply should be carried for the steep trails.
