Popular hike in the Thuringian Forest Nature Park, Thuringia. A beautiful hike starting at Immelborn train station. The last five kilometers lead quite constantly uphill through beautiful forest. From the refuge on the "Grosse Meilerstaette" ridge, you can either continue hiking to Ruhla or walk back to the train station. The route connects several cultural and natural sights. Starting from the region around Glücksbrunn Castle, the trail runs over the Schweinaer Höhe and through the spa gardens of Bad Liebenstein. The landscape alternates between open meadows near Bairoda and wooded sections. Passing the Landwehr, the path leads up to Laudenbach before descending to the Trusetaler Wasserfall, an artificial waterfall.
