This circular route leads to the Luisenturm and around the Altenberge Pinge, an old mining facility. The Luisenturm stands on the Geisingberg and via a spiral staircase with 88 steps you can reach the observation deck of the tower. From here you have a breathtaking panoramic view of Altenberg and the surrounding countryside.

Altenberg can be reached by train from Dresden. From Altenberg train station, it goes past the large gallows pond on the Julius Schmidt Steig to Neu Schellerhau, on over the Stephanhöhe to Bärenfels to the Bärenfelser Stüb'l. The nature trail continues over the Hofehübel past Klotzes grave.
