Beautiful circular hike in the Ore Mountains near Altenberg, Saxony. This long circular hike starts in Altenberg/Erzgebirge and leads over the Geisingberg to the Scharspitze and from there to the Großer Lugstein and up to the Kahleberg. From here it goes back down to Altenberg. A good level of fitness is required for this route due to the length and the incline. This circular route leads to the Luisenturm and around the Altenberge Pinge, an old mining facility. The Luisenturm stands on the Geisingberg and via a spiral staircase with 88 steps you can reach the observation deck of the tower. From here you have a breathtaking panoramic view of Altenberg and the surrounding countryside.
