Kitakyushu Quasi-National Park, designated in 1972, is located in the northeastern part of Fukuoka Prefecture and covers an area including Hiraodai, famous for its magnificent karst topography, Mt. Sarakura, Mt. Fukuchi, Mt. Adachi, and Mt. Kazeshi. doing. Although it is located near the city, it still has a rich natural environment.

Mt. Sarakura is also known for being selected as one of the New Japan's top three night views, along with Sapporo and Nagasaki, and the gorgeous night view of Kitakyushu City, which is said to be worth 10 billion dollars, is attractive. The Fukuchi Mountains are also known for their wide variety of hiking trails, and are visited by many climbers throughout the year. Also, the spectacular view of the Suonada Sea and the Kanmon Straits from Mt. Kazeshi is a must-see.

If you are interested in history, please visit the Kokura area, where Kokura Castle and various historical sites are located. While you're strolling around, be sure to sample local gourmet food such as fresh Kitakyushu fish raised in the rough waves of the Kanmon Straits, and Shisan udon and yaki udon, which are beloved as soul food by the city's residents.
