The path is a climb up rocky, root-covered trails and numerous stairs through the beautiful forest of native Japanese beech trees. During the final ascent, hikers must climb a series of three long, vertical iron chains bolted directly to the sheer rock faces. The reward is the 360-degree view from the narrow summit, which is home to the shrine.
