Known for lions the king of the jungle, this is the only other place in the world where one can see lions roaming around freely. But by the efforts of the officials since 1913 this park has seen a growth in numbers ever since. Now the population has grown to more than 523 lions in the region.

This park has a semi-arid kind of vegetation that provides perfect conditions for lions. Another animal that is only found over here is the Chowsingha or the four-horned antelope. It also houses leopards, jackals, hyenas, and foxes. The avifauna of the region has a similar diversity with more than 200 species of birds finding shelter in these jungles.Indigenous species like the critically endangered white-backed and long-billed vultures.
