Kanger Valley is named after the Kangar river that flows over here. It was awarded the title of National Park in the year 1982. There are various amazing indigenous species that reside in this location. Some of the common species of animals found over here are tigers, leopards, mouse deer, wild cat, chital, etc. More than 100 species of birds are found here from which Bastar Maina attracts the most tourist. Bastar Maina (gruncula Dhariosoa) a type of Hill Maina are the birds that can emulate human voices. It has a very diverse flora as well from which some of the common trees that are found over here are Sal, Saugaun, teak, and bamboo trees. This park is also rich in terms of cave systems and the amazing rock structure found in them, like in Dandak Caves Stalagmites and Stalactites are found. There are limestone caves with dripstone and flowstone below the park as well. Other than this park is also graced with stupendous views, even gypsy safaris are available in this location to take you even further inside the forest.
