The High Fens-Eifel Nature Park runs along the German-Belgian border. The German part is also known as the North Eifel Nature Park. North Rhine-Westphalia's only national park, the Eifel National Park, is located in the middle of the nature park.

The natural diversity of the park never ceases to amaze visitors. The upland moor in the Belgian "High Fens", rivers, streams and 15 lakes and reservoirs, the colorful biodiversity in the Limestone Eifel, wide and forested mountain heights of the High Eifel and the foothills of the Volcanic Eifel are just some of the highlights of the nature park.

From the parking lot (side of the road Bergstrasse) follow the sign to the grill area. Past the barbecue area, continue down the path to the lake. Along the lake (right) to “Fjord” before Woffelsbach. At the end of the fjord then right up the forest path.
