Best short trails in Steinwald Nature Park
To the west of the A93, between the Fichtelgebirge and the Upper Palatinate Forest, is the Steinwald Nature Park. The landscape is dominated by conifers hidden between bizarre rock formations. Well-known are the Räuberfelsen, Vogelfelsen and the Saubadfelsen.

The castle ruin Waldeck, which is one of the oldest castle ruins in the Upper Palatinate, sits enthroned on the Schloßberg. From here there are great views of the stone forest, the St. Aegidius castle chapel and the EWILPA (Edible Wild Plant Park) circular route to explore.
