Dense forests, panoramic plateaus and deep meadow valleys are the striking landscapes of the Franconian Forest Nature Park. The wild and romantic Steinachklamm gorge and the Höllental valley are just a few examples of the impressive nature to be found in the nature park. Flora and fauna are rich in species and rare animal and plant species, for example the black stork, woodlark, arnica or club marmoset, are at home in the Franconian Forest, which is why almost 50% of the area is covered with forest, which is why the Franconian Forest is also known as the "Green Crown of Bavaria".
