Best trails in Puurijärvi and Isosuo National Park
Lake Puurijärvi-Isosuo National Park is located on the border between Satakunta and Pirkanmaa. Lake Puurijärvi is almost overgrown and is one of the most bird-rich lakes in Finland. Its shallow, open waters are home to yellow water-lily. The marshes of the park are home to a diverse butterfly fauna and several species of dragonflies. The park's coastal meadows are traditionally managed by grazing, so cows are also a common sight here.
There is a lean-to shelter and a campfire site on the banks of the Ala-Kauvatsanjoki River. Camping is allowed near the campfire site and in the lean-to shelter. There is an accessible path and a bird viewing platform at Kärjenkallio.
Public transport can get you to Huittinen, 14 km from the park. The park is accessible by water along the Kokemäenjoki and Ala-Kauvatsanjoki rivers.
