Best trails in Päijänne National Park
Päijänne National Park offers beautiful lake scenery for boaters and paddlers, as well as day hikers on foot. The embrace of Finland's second largest lake is home to a very significant and interesting site of geological value. The park has sandy beaches and unexpectedly rising rocky shores, above which the cry of the osprey echoes.
At the heart of the park is Kelvenne, one of Finland's largest and most impressive ridge islands. On the island, hikers can experience clear waters, lovely sandy beaches, lush crests, and stunning funnels. The natural environment is rich in plant species and has a diverse birdlife. The narrowest part of the island used to be used to carry a light boat across the ridge to shorten the distance.
