Trail reviews for Dartmoor National Park
Dartmoor, peace like no other.
Great hike, detoured out past lower white tor for an overnight wild camp stay (detour needed to be within Dartmoor backpack camping area). Perfect for a short easy wild camp hike or just an easy day hike. As usual with Dartmoor boggy braveness needed in wet weather just be prepared to get a little soggy, and the river crossing after heavy rainfall was a handful (had to take my trousers off and was thigh deep!) but should be fine following clearer weather. Great hike.
Great walk. Lots of different scenery. Some lanes to walk through but they were really quiet. The views in Dartmoor are gorgeous. Walking through Gidleigh it does have a private road sign but I had no both. I would definitely go again.
A lot of sheep on the Dartmoor side so leads needed, but off lead on other side of river.
A really beautiful trail that has some gorgeous views! If you don’t want a route that involves very steep hills then this isn’t for you but if you like a bit of a challenge then this is the one! We saw some beautiful Dartmoor ponies which was lovely and the view from the top was breathtaking <3
Clearly defined circular route around Southern Dartmoor. Clear & cool with light breeze.
