The Juan Fernández Archipelago National Park was declared as such on January 16, 1935 and subsequently recognized as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1977.
The archipelago (where the national park is also located) is composed of three islands: Robinson Crusoe, Santa Clara and Alejandro Selkirk.
One of the most important characteristics is its flora, unique in the world, which has given it the greatest international relevance, since it has the highest level of insular endemism per square kilometer on the planet.
