Best historic site trails in Floh-Seligenthal

Beautiful loop in the Thuringian Forest. A great loop through the countryside, very close to the Rennsteig trail. The start is at the Buchborn rest area, where there is also a car park. Along the way, there is a small kiosk at the campsite and some wonderful rest areas where a picnic can be enjoyed. In summer, rare orchids and trollflowers grow on the "Ebertswiese" meadow. Interesting GeoRoute in the Thuringian Forest Nature Park. A great circular route through a geologically interesting landscape. There is evidence of former volcanic activity, former coal mining and the oldest rock in the Geopark, Kleinschmalkalder granite. There is a car park near the starting point and there are restaurants in the centre of Seligenthal for refreshments. Highlights: - great viewpoints - Haderholz rhyolite due to volcanism - Historic coal mining area - Haderholz stone cave
