Historical walk to Königstein Fortress, Saxony. Königstein Fortress is one of the largest mountain fortresses in Europe and is located in the middle of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains on the table mountain of the same name. From here you have an excellent view of the town of Königstein at the foot of the mountain, the River Elbe and the surrounding district of Saxon Switzerland. There is an entrance fee to visit the fortress.
