Best moderate trails in Voerde

This hike starts in the north of Voerde at the train station and in the district of Friedrichsfeld. The path leads along the Wesel-Datteln Canal and approaches the Rhine. From the ends of the locks you can see the Rhine as well as the Rhein-Lippe harbor and the port of Emmelsmum. You can watch the barges passing by and the locks in action.

Beautiful circular hike in North Rhine-Westphalia. The route begins at Voerde station. It leads past Haus Voerde and then directly to the Rhine. On its green promenade, you follow the river to the quarry pond and then turn inland, pass Mehrum and then hike between endlessly wide fields and the flowing water to just before Spellen and back to the starting point. Accessible by bus and train. There are places to stop for refreshments in the vicinity of the route.
