Best dogs on leash trails in Leverkusen

Easy circular route through the nature reserve. A real insider tip for bird lovers (69 species were found here in 2015) and wildlife watching. A real highlight are the cattle and water buffalo, which ensure natural grazing of the former gravel pit (please do not feed!). Dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the reserve.

The route always goes through the forest on mostly good and wide paths. Only after heavy rain is the route a bit muddy in places. The route can be walked all year round. You only come across other people, cyclists and dogs every now and then. The route is more frequented at the weekend.

This loop connects the Bürgerbusch woodland with the Reuschenberg forest, linking two primary green spaces in Leverkusen via the Dhünn river corridor.
