Best river trails in Kamp-Lintfort

Varied loop trail near Kamp-Lintfort, North Rhine-Westphalia. This very short hike takes you around the golf courses at Kamp Kloster. The Cistercian monastery, founded in 1123, is in close proximity to the historic Fossa Eugeniana canal, construction of which began in 1626 and was never completed. It is tour no. 5 from Steinbicker, The most beautiful bike tours on the Lower Rhine, BVA, 3rd edition 2012, but to the left and starting from Lintfort. At km 1.8, however, it is better not to follow the track provided by the publisher to the right, but drive straight ahead for about 700 m and then to the right until you come back to the old track.

This hike begins at the Kamper Wald's Hoher Busch car park. It leads through the fields around Kamperbrück. Then it goes through the forests of Mönchshall and Niederkamp. On the way back it goes back into the Kamper forest. The path is relatively flat and is good for jogging or walking the dog.
