The Autobahn 555 between Bonn and Cologne, opened by Adenauer in 1932, was the first real autobahn. A great contrast to this temple of motorization and industrialization is the parallel route for bicycles along the Rhine side. This route leads along the east side of the river and leads across the nature park on the Sieg Delta, the tributary of the Rhine.
