Best easy trails in Auetal

The Contemplative Quality Trail in the Weserbergland is an easy loop designed to encourage hikers to forget their everyday lives and focus solely on themselves for the moment. The approximately 4-kilometer loop leads through picturesque floodplains and past a total of nine interactive stations that offer exercises designed to enhance personal well-being. The trail is marked with a blue “AU 1” on an orange background.

The figure-eight route spans the southern slopes of the Bückeberge hills, connecting the parking areas at Kathrinhagen and An der Eulenburg. Forested trails lead past the Köhlerhütte shelter and storytelling spots designed for younger visitors. Broad views stretch across the Auetal valley toward the Weser hills along the forest edges. An optional detour leads to the historic St. Catherine's Church in Kathrinhagen and its ancient linden tree along the historic Loccum-Volkenroda pilgrimage path.
