Best backpacking trails in Modautal

This route follows stage 3 of the Alemannenweg and connects Lautertal with Zwingenberg. From Lautertal, the trail ascends Felsberg through the famous Felsenmeer granite boulders and continues into Staatspark Fürstenlager with its historic landscape garden. Hikers pass Auerbach before tackling steep climbs to Auerbach Castle and the summit of Melibokus, where an observation tower offers sweeping views of the Rhine Plain.
