The Spessartspur starts at the Jahnstraße car park in the Hasselroth community. From there the path leads into the forest to the "burned fir trees". The path leads steadily uphill and offers constantly changing forest patterns. Here the path meets the Oberrodenbacher Spessartspur and follows the path over the "Sauloch" up to the "Edelweißhütte" near Gondsroth.
